Would you ever knowingly buy underwear that a stranger wore and returned back to the store as new?
I’m not trying to be gross, but an undercover investigation found that major department stores were accepting returns of used lingerie!

I never knew such thing as returning used lingerie to the store. Sounds weird (and kind of scary). I hope this sort of case doesn't happen on lingerie stores in my country. Well, so far, I never heard of any. Thanks for the info, though
Oh my goodness. This was on Today yesterday with Hoda & Kathy Lee. GROSS. At least I think it was them. I can't remember. I don't usually buy undergarments off the rack though, I'm more of a sealed multi-pack sort of gal

I always wash everything that I buy clothing-wise before I wear it…t-shirts, shorts/pants, everything…but especially underwear! I have always been paranoid of something like that happening…but I didn't know it was so common!

@Diar – I don't think this is something that is all that common, but for investigators to see this happen at multiple stores makes you wonder…

I used to work at JcPenny and we were NOT allowed to re-sell used or worn undies. At that time we weren't even allowed to take it back unless a manager was involved in the return.
How gross! I will be paying extra close attention now! I did before but, oh my I will be watching super close now!

I had a personal friend who bought some L'Eggs pantyhose (the kind that used to come in the big plastic egg) in an orchid shade, wore them all evening to church service, and decided she didn't like the color, and the store took them back! Same with a mauve pair of flats (shoes) that she wore to church, walked to and from the church building over the parking lot, and returned them and they took them back!!! Probably put them back on the shelf!
Grosssssssss! I’m a wash before wearing kind of girl, but even with washing, I’d still be creeped out if I thought someone wore the underwear before I did. Ew.
