Little Man was invited to a birthday party this past weekend. When we received the invitation, RSVPs were requested because the “Tumblebus was coming.” I had no clue what the Tumblebus was, but I figured it was going to be fun for the little ones.
The party started off with the children in the backyard. Some played in the bouncy house and others played on the playground set. After about 30 minutes, a big announcement came:
“The Tumblebus is here!”
We all went to the front yard and saw a big school bus.
All of the children lined up and got on the bus. I got on behind them and was pretty surprised at what I saw. The bus was gutted out and turned into a gym. Padding was on the walls below the windows. The ceiling and upper walls were decorated with blue, yellow, and red stars. There were several different activities on the bus for the kids – a slide, monkey bars, trampolines, and arm rings. It was like a gymnastics class on wheels!
Two Tumblebus teachers explained the rules to the children and then got everything started.

Little Man enjoyed riding on the zip cord. To be honest, I wanted to ride on it too!
The fun concluded with an Awards Ceremony. Everyone got a chance to stand on the podium with their “olympic medal” and goodie bag.
Our Tumblebus experience was great! It was a unique way to celebrate a birthday. Little Man had a wonderful time and so did the other children. They all got a chance to be physically active and enjoy it in the process. In my opinion, the Tumblebus is best suited for little ones between the ages of 3 and 7.

That is so cool! My eight year old daughter and I recently went to a zoo snooze party at the Norfolk VA zoo. We stayed overnight at the zoo with 15 girls and their moms. In the morning we got to watch them feed the lions their breakfast. They were 3 feet away from us and very hungry. Neat and scary at the same time.
That sounds like fun! I think that unique party ideas give great memories for not only the children, but the parents as well. I would have been a little nervous about those lions too!

You can get up to 15 on the bus, but I think it would work better with 10 or less between the ages of 3-7. It was a lot of fun and the children had a ball!
