Just popped over from UBP2011. Twitter handle caught my eye. Christian mommy here too. Have one son almost 4 and one daughter 12 weeks. Love blogging, writing, homemaking. Pharmacist turned full time homemaker (part time diabetic counselor still…only about 4 hours per week). Nice to meet you.
Sounds like we have some things in common! I used to teach diabetes education classes back in the day. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’ll be over to check out your blog soon…
Hi! I am a Christian mommy soon to be blogger too! Right now I am just doing some journaling but thinking about blogging. I have 5 kids. Three with special needs. Two kids still at home. I like the design of you sight!
Hi Beth! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I bet that you have a lot of great stuff to contribute to the blogosphere. When you get started, let me know! Blessings to you and your family!
Hi. Just found your blog while looking for good ones to model mine after
I have two moving tips I’d like to share.
First, when we moved from our old house to our current house I bought different color packing tape. I used red packing tape for eveything going to the second floor, yellow for things going to the first floor, and blue for things going to the basement. Of course we ran out of the colored tape and I had to use tan or clear tape for the rest.
Originally our builder told us we could move in two days early. But at the last minute he limited us to the basement and garage (since we hadn’t had the “walk-through” yet). So all our furniture was in the garage and all our boxed went to the basement. Having those different colors of tape on the boxes helped me to find the kids’ clothes and the kitchen items I needed after we moved in.
My second tip is to pack extra clothes and keep them with you. As I said, we moved all our stuff in two days early, but I packed four days worth of clothes for the kids and me. My husband insisted we only needed two days worth of clothes since we would be in the new house by then, but I know things don’t always go as planned.
Turns out, since our washer and dryer were somewhere in the garage under and behind lots of other furniture, I couldn’t do any laundry for a few days. And all our other clothes were in boxes in the basement, mixed in with lots of other boxes. (Not a lot of room to move around down there.) The extra clothes I had packed and kept with us came in handy.
Those are great tips Donna! Sounds like the different colored tape worked well. I have a tendency to always overpack, so we should do fine with extra clothes!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and good luck on starting up yours!
